Ardh Architects has created a stunning private fitness center in Dubai's Nad al Shiba area, offering a one-of-a-kind experience for fitness and relaxation. Inspired by the beauty of the desert landscape, the design aims to establish an intimate connection with the natural setting.
The building's architecture harmoniously combines stone, wood, and vegetation, creating a seamless integration with the powerful desert landscape and the tranquil panorama of the pond. This design approach ensures that the fitness center pays homage to the traditional serenity of the Arabian desert.
The Home Gym is a ground floor facility that offers a range of amenities for both fitness and leisure. It features a swimming pool suitable for both family enjoyment and training, a sauna and Jacuzzi for ultimate relaxation, two dining lounges, and a juice bar. Additionally, the facility includes spacious changing rooms and lockers, as well as a fitness zone capable of accommodating up to 20 people at a time.
One of the unique features of this design is its integration with outdoor activities. The facility provides electric charging docks for club cars and a dedicated cycling path, allowing fitness enthusiasts to enjoy outdoor workouts in the beautiful surroundings.
The design of the Home Gym prioritizes the connection with the existing pond. All walls facing the pond offer unobstructed views, while the opposite side remains solid, preserving the natural surroundings and existing vegetation. The exterior cladding, with its sandy tones and use of sandstone, further enhances the building's blend with the environment.
The Home Gym's layout is divided into two main areas: the workout space and the leisure and social space. These areas are connected by a corridor that offers a clear view of the pond, creating a seamless transition through nature. The pool area features retractable glazing, allowing it to open up during cooler winter months, while skylights above provide a breathtaking view of the sky.
Construction of this exceptional fitness center is set to begin in the second quarter of this year. With its innovative design and commitment to preserving the natural surroundings, the Home Gym by Ardh Architects promises to be a haven for wellness enthusiasts seeking a unique and rejuvenating experience.
Winner of the prestigious A' Design Award in 2020, this design has been recognized for its outstanding creativity and resourcefulness.
